Crater Lake, OR

August 05, 2009

We spent a couple of hours riding through Crater Lake National Park.  So far, Crater Lake was the highlight.

We were hoping to get to Brookings, southern coast of Oregon.   We were slightly directionally challenged when we took the wrong turnoff and ended up on the I5, too far north at Cannonville.  We should have been in Grant’s Pass.  It wasn’t too bad.  We were about 100 km away.  It meant we had to take I5...not thrilled about that.  But we took it easy until we got about 15 min. from Grant’s Pass and we could see the dark clouds and lightning ahead of us.  No sooner, we were being pelted by rain.   Neil did a great job leaded us to safety in Grant’s Pass.  I guess this is another highlight of the trip.
